In this bonus episode of the Unabridged Podcast, we share the 2021 Unabridged Podcast Reading Challenge. We hope these categories give you a little push to try some new things in 2021! In episodes through the rest of Season 4, we'll be sharing books that meet the Challenge's categories. And keep an eye on our Bookish Faves and social media (especially our Instagram feed and the Unabridged Book Club Group on Facebook), which will also offer ideas and discussion to help you succeed in meeting the Challenge.
 
At the end of 2021, for those who have completed the Challenge, we'll have a giveaway!

In this Unabridged Teaching Tidbits episode, Ashley talks about incorporating more hands-on activities into the classroom (or at home), and she shares three of her favorite books for making it easier to find and do activities with kids. Ashley shares two books by Asia Citro, creator of Fun at Home with Kids. Ashley talks about 150+ Screen-Free Activities for Kids: The Very Best and Easiest Playtime Activities from FunAtHomeWithKids.com! and The Curious Kid's Science Book: 100+ Creative Hands-On Activities for Ages 4-8. Then, she shares about Kimberly McLeod's Easy Fun and Easy Crafting with Recycled Materials: 60 Cool Projects that Reimagine Paper Rolls, Egg Cartons, Jars and More!. Ashley also mentions supplies it helps to have available for activities, especially these liquid watercolors. These books are great resources for teachers and moms, and any one of them would be a great gift option!
